Always fully deductible, your financial contribution right now is one of the best ways to help FSS continue its work.

Donations might be only a dollar or two at a FSS function, or a few extra dollars with your annual membership. Or it might be a substantial donation toward helping toward the FSS mission of enriching, empowering and involving Eel River Valley seasoned citizens. All gifts are valued, used to the best effect possible, and make a difference.

Why Give Now?

Estate Planners often advise giving some money or other assets now rather than waiting.  The reason – taxes.  Giving now reduces the size of your taxable estate.  You can give up to $18,000 per recipient per year tax free.  (Check this with your tax preparer). You Have Choices

You can choose how to donate, and where your money goes.

  • You can make a simple cash donation.
  • You can make a Memorial Gift.
  • You can help fund a program or project of your choice.
  • You can make an “In Kind” donation of needed supplies or equipment.

Most gifts to FSS take the form of a cash payment.

Any donation of $500 or more will be recognized on  the “Donor Role” in our newsletter, and  if you are a business or other cause, in our website as a 1/6 page depiction of your logo or other message.

•  Memorial Gift

When your tax-deductible gift is a memorial for a special occasion, - a birthday,an anniversary, a graduation, a speedy recovery, or in memory of a loved one, you not only commemorate someone special, you have the satisfaction of giving a truly meaningful gift.   Plus FSS sends a special card to the celebrated person, or the bereaved family acknowledging your gift on the same day it is received.

•  Help Fund A Program That's Special to You

For Example:

•  Senior Center: The number one FSS goal from day one is a Senior Center for Fortuna.  The only way that will happen is with the help of people like you, working hand in hand with local foundations.  The best way to make a contribution for this purpose is to make your contribution payable to the “Fortuna Senior Services Building Fund". This special fund of the Humboldt Area Foundation is restricted to the goal of a Senior Center for Fortuna.

•  Social/Recreational Activities – e.g. Jamboree, Cards and Games, Mini Trips

•  Getting in shape” through fitness, health, and wellness –

           S.T.R.O.N.G. program,  Exercises, Tai Chi, Line Dancing

 

•  In-Kind Donations
